Symbol/Gene Name:  GRM5

Alias:  Metabotropic glutamate receptor 5,mGluR5

Uniprot: P41594

Background: G-protein coupled receptor for glutamate. Ligand binding causes a conformation change that triggers signaling via guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) and modulates the activity of down-stream effectors. Signaling activates a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system and generates a calcium-activated chloride current. Plays an important role in the regulation of synaptic plasticity and the modulation of the neural network activity.

Construct: GRM5(P569-K678) (E579A, N667Y, I669A, G675M)-T4L-GRM5(K679-A836) (T742A, S753A)-10His

Expression Host: Insect cell

Purity: 90%

Formulation: 50 mM Tris-HCl (pH7.5), 200 mM NaCl, 20% glycerol
