Symbol/Gene Name:

Alias:  Leaf-branch compost cutinase,LC-cutinase,LCC,PET-digesting enzyme,Poly(ethylene terephthalate) hydrolase,PET hydrolase,PETase

Uniprot: G9BY57

Background: Cutinase that degrades cutin fibers prepared from tomato peels and hydrolyzes various fatty acid monoesters with acyl chain lengths of 2 to 18, with a preference for short-chain substrates (C4 substrate at most). Cannot hydrolyze olive oil (PubMed:22194294). Is also able to degrade polyethylene terephthalate (PET), the most abundant polyester plastic in the world (PubMed:22194294, PubMed:32269349). Can also depolymerize poly(epsilon-caprolactone) (PCL), a synthetic aliphatic biodegradable polyester (PubMed:22194294).

Construct: GG-LCC(S36-Q293)

Expression Host: E. coli

Purity: 90%

Formulation: 50mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 200mM NaCl, 20% glycerol
